This is a commissioned piece for of her dragonsona Dark Raven. [link] Commission info--> [link] I've been wanting to do some different BGs in A4 size. Mainly with markers, but all of my mediums too.
Some parts of this was new to me, so there are some mistakes . But for the most part, i'm very happy with this picture.
I used crayola, rose art, and crazyart brand markers to color it. And i used a white gel pen to blend the colors.
This is the photo i referenced for the lighting, shading, and BG Do not use any of my art without my permission.
I just love this first of all. It seems very calming and subtle. And The pose, It's just so relaxed looking. I love the amount of detail there is and how this looks somewhat realistic in a way. The expression on the face looks sincere and longing for someone, or something, and it give a sense of history to the image in which it seems they are missing someone or the history of who it is and what they are like. Again, it is a very beautiful picture and you did a good job on it.
A calm, warm feeling inside the picture may put me to rest, just like the character himself. Nice pose and beautiful colouring. I like the background It's a bit... my dictionary gives me no answer for the word I look for so I try to use "stripy"? What's that in english, if the surface is not smooth/consistent but has stripes on it? Nevertheless it's really okay, it's good the way it is! Keep it up
Wonderful use of the colors. Definitely a fan there. And like you said there r mistakes that i know you know of so don't have to point the obvious. But I do enjoy this piece.
